Nepali Tea FAQs
Brewing, ingredients, and caffeine. Quick answers about tea from Nepal.
What is in the New Harvest collection?
The eight single-origin teas from our newest lot out of Ilam, Nepal: first-flush green and white teas picked in spring 2026, plus summer-flush black and oolong. Every product page lists the harvest season the tea came from, so you always know how old your leaf is.
How fresh are New Harvest teas?
Each tea is processed in Ilam within days of picking, shipped to our Saugus, MA warehouse and sealed straight from the lot. Because the harvest is printed on every listing, you can compare the pick date with the day you brew it.
What is the difference between spring flush and summer flush?
Spring (first) flush is picked from late March to April and gives a light, floral, naturally sweet cup. Summer (second) flush is picked from May to June, after the bushes have grown fuller leaves, and gives a rounder, fruitier, fuller-bodied cup. This collection has both, so you can taste the two seasons side by side.
How should I store new harvest tea?
Keep it in an airtight container away from light, heat, moisture and strong smells. Spring greens and whites are the most delicate, so drink them within about a year of harvest for the brightest cup. Black and oolong teas hold their flavor longer. Close the pouch or tin promptly after every scoop.
