A crisp, cooling mint green tea with spearmint, fennel, and a clean citrus lift, never bitter.
Quick Facts
Makalu Mint is a crisp, cooling green tea blend built on a smooth, high-altitude green tea from Ilam, Nepal, then layered with spearmint, fennel, eucalyptus, and a touch of citron. The cup pours bright gold and tastes naturally sweet and light-bodied, with a refreshing herbal lift and a clean, citrusy finish. Real botanicals do the work here, never artificial flavoring.
A natural choice if you love mint tea but want a smooth green base with no bitterness, whether you drink it hot or poured over ice. Curious how spearmint compares to peppermint? Read our guide on spearmint vs peppermint tea, or browse the full Nepali tea blends collection.
Makalu Mint starts with a smooth, high-altitude green tea grown in the Ilam district of eastern Nepal, then layers in real spearmint, fennel, eucalyptus, and a touch of dried citron. The botanicals are whole and real, never artificial flavoring, so the cup tastes crisp and clean with a natural cooling lift. The green tea base is organically grown, though the finished blend is not USDA Organic certified.
BASE ORIGIN
Ilam, Nepal (~6,700 ft)
BOTANICALS
Spearmint, fennel, eucalyptus, citron
BLENDED
Hand-blended in small batches
Unlike mass-produced mint teas, Makalu Mint offers a layered herbal profile: crisp spearmint up front, earthy fennel underneath, a cooling note of eucalyptus, and a clean citrus finish. The high-altitude green tea base keeps it naturally sweet and light-bodied with no bitterness. It is equally good as a mindful morning cup or a refreshing afternoon lift, served hot or over ice. To understand the mint itself, see our guide on spearmint versus peppermint tea.
Our direct-trade green tea base comes from small farms in Ilam, Nepal, and we hand-blend Makalu Mint and ship from our Saugus, Massachusetts facility. That keeps the leaf well-traced and the finished blend fresh for customers across the United States. Explore the full Nepali tea blends collection and our green tea collection.
An 8 oz cup of Makalu Mint contains roughly 25 to 35 mg of caffeine, a low-to-moderate level that comes entirely from the green tea base. The spearmint, fennel, eucalyptus, and citron add aroma and flavor, not caffeine. That is enough to feel gently refreshed and focused without the sharp spike some people associate with coffee. For the full breakdown, read our guide on how much caffeine is in green tea.
Mint and fennel have long been enjoyed after meals across many tea cultures, and many people find a cup of mint tea soothing and refreshing at the end of the day. Makalu Mint pairs that tradition with a clean Himalayan green tea base for a light, cooling finish.
