Shangri-La hand-rolled black tea is brisk and complex and can be enjoyed throughout the day. It is comprised of primarily whole leaves and has a deep amber liquor. Notes of dried apricot, cedar, and burnt honey are supported by notes of red currant and malt. This comforting tea will develop more complexity and sweetness over many steeps.
One teaspoon of tea per 8 ounces cup. Cool boiling water for 1 minute, then steep tea 3 - 4 minutes. Tea can be steeped more than once.
The apricot & spice notes definitely shine. It’s pretty amazing! Pairs perfectly with almost everything!
Dear Kat, We are so thrilled to know that you enjoyed our Shangri-La Hand-Rolled Black Tea. Thank you so much for your great feedback. We truly appreciate it!
I'm not going to try to use all of the foodies' descriptors to characterize this tea. I've not tasted chocolate in a tea or hints of anything. I will say, though, that this is one of my wife's favorite teas, alongside Sherpa Breakfast, and Llotse Black, all of which happen to come from this tea company! Yes, she still loves her Keemun Hao Ya, but these Nepali teas are her go-to teas. They have that subtle something that transports the drinker to some more serene world. Want to de-stress? Take a sip of this tea and close your eyes.
This is one of my new favorite teas. Before I even steeped it I could tell it was going to be amazing from the smell. I wasn't disappointed at all- in fact, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in any way by this excellent tea. Smooth, fruity, mellow, malty, sweet, almost a hint of chocolate...just perfect. Yumm! I'm in love!
This is the tea for which I completely gave up coffee. It is simply outstanding and can't get enough of it.
