This distinctive green oolong is plucked just before Nepal’s tea plants go dormant in mid-November. After plucking, the leaves are withered and rolled in mechanical rollers. The leaves are then placed in a shaping machine and further dried, producing the distinctive pearls. This exquisite, complex oolong produces aromas of wild orchids. The flavor is soothingly fruity, characteristic of the finest of the autumnal teas from the Jasbirey foothills of Sandakphu.
One heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 ounce cup. Cool boiling water for 2 minutes, then steep tea 2 - 3 minutes.
I am away and haven't had a chance to try it yet but I am sure it will be delicious.
This tea is okay for the first 2 steepings. After the initial 2 cups ( 6 oz cup), the umami, the liquor quickly go down hill. My recommendations for steeping is 3 minutes at 190 degrees. In my opinion, this oolong is good for a stop gap measure, however, if an oolong with a lasting umami and liquor is what you want, a purchase of Tihar Smoked Oolong is the suggested "cup of tea".
I am new to the tea world, and this one is very nice. I made a second pot from the same leaves as the first pot but just let the second batch steep a little longer, and it was just as good!
This is a quite decent oolong for a reasonable price. It has the fragrant orchid-floral aroma when brewed that lasts through the first two brewing nicely. I was able to get a drinkable 3rd brewing from it. Love the flavor and experience. Now, this is a real tea experience. Thank you for a quality product.
Right after opening the package, I knew that this will be an amazing tea. It exceeds all my expectations of what drinking a pure and premium tea should be like. I feel revived, when I drink this delicious tea.
